1985 VW Cabriolet 2 Door Hatchback Convertible 5-Speed for sale. The odometer reads 237,383 and the engine was rebuilt around 85K miles. Silver/Gray exterior on Two-Tone Tan/Blue leather. 1.8 Liter Inline Four Cylinder Motor mated to a 5 Speed Manual Transmission.

Originally purchased in 1985. I bought it new off the lot from a VW dealer.

I drove it every day until 2021. It’s never been out of California. It was always garaged up until then.

It started and ran until 1 month ago. We charged the battery but I think it hasn’t been started frequently enough and the injectors are probably clogged.

Registration is current. I filed it non-operational last year because it needed to be smogged and I didn’t see the point in paying for a mechanic to tinker with it again until it would pass smog. It was passing smog every other year up to that point. Registration is due every July.

The leather seats and the top are original. I noticed in the photos of other cars that the upholstery and probably the tops weren’t original. I think that might make it worth more to someone who wants something original which proves that the car was well taken care of.
